New details are emerging in the Buhera axe murder that has shocked Zimbabwe. Lyliosa Chirara, who attacked her husband, Commissioner Martin Muduva, before ending her own life, left behind a suicide note that is now central to the police investigation.

According to information seen by Harare Express, the note reportedly refers to a prolonged period of marital frustration, including a claim that the couple had not been sexually intimate since 2022. The note does not appear to justify the violence but offers a glimpse into the private struggles that may have preceded the fatal attack.

A close friend of the late Commissioner Muduva has also spoken out about the state of the bedroom where the killing took place. The friend, who visited the scene shortly after the incident, described it as resembling an abattoir, underlining the ferocity of the attack.

Police in Buhera have not yet released the full contents of the suicide note, but community leaders say the tragedy has sparked urgent conversations about domestic conflict and the need for better support systems in rural areas.

The case remains under investigation as relatives and colleagues of the deceased come to terms with the loss.
